The Importance of Hull Design
We originated the phrase 4WD of the Sea® to describe the capability
of our RHIBs, and noone understands the importance of appropriate
hull design for different applications better than us! An early change
from fiberglass to aluminium hulls allowed unlimited experimentation
with hull designs. This meant minor changes could be made to each
new design to exploit new knowledge and lessons learnt from past
designs. Having the ability to create designs from the keel up to meet
customer’s requirements has been challenging and rewarding.
Naiad’s designers start with a clear understanding of the intended use
for each design to ensure the ideal hull shape is achieved. This is a
complex process with all aspects needing to be kept in balance. Our
sophisticated naval architecture software provides certainty in the final
outcome. All Naiad designs are generated in 3D computer models.
This modern technology is an incredible tool, but it takes passion,
dedication, knowledge and experience to achieve the ultimate result
of a really well balanced package and successful solution.
